Israel has intensified its military efforts to dismantle Hamas and other militant groups in Lebanon and Syria. However, the future of the Palestinian people remains unresolved. Sources in Tel Aviv indicate that the Israeli government is still deliberating over Gaza’s future, considering options such as the form of governance, potential displacement, and/or military rule.
Meanwhile, pressure is mounting on Jordan and Egypt, both of which are horrified at how this might play out. As our source says, ‘It is a new dawn for Israel, with more aggression and military strategies that are likely to force some of our neighbours to an agreement, though this is unlikely to happen in the next four to five years.’
It is also clear that Prime Minister Netanyahu will rely on President Trump to have the final say. Sources indicate that the Israeli decision to suspend aid deliveries into Gaza this week was coordinated in consultation with the Trump administration
