About the event
Our keynote speaker General Sir Richard Barrons, KCB, CBE, former Commander of Joint Forces and co-author with Lord Robertson of The Strategic Defence Review, will deliver a vital and candid address. A powerful voice on national security and preparedness, General Barrons will share his unvarnished assessment of the challenges ahead.
His warning is clear and compelling:‘Europe must be prepared. We are moving to a cliff edge as the US military support declines. We are in a new era with profound threats to our security and prosperity. To prevent war, Britain must prepare for it. We need to mobilise a whole of societal partnership.’
This discussion will be moderated by the Rt. Hon. Sir Malcolm Rifkind, KCMG, KC, former Foreign Secretary and Defence Secretary. Lady Olga Maitland will preside.
