About the event

Lieutenant General Ben Hodges, former Commanding General of US Army Europe and former Commander, NATO Allied Land Command, will provide a vital US perspective on European security and the war in Ukraine. His analysis will consider the significance of recent Russian drone incursions into Poland and Romania, as well as Russian-Belarusian military exercises reminiscent of pre-invasion build-ups. He will incorporate firsthand insights from recent visits to Poland and Latvia, in addition to his observations on Russia's broader geopolitical outreach, including its deepening relationship with India. He says: "Europe has the capacity and capability to respond, if it can muster the political will.”
